Kayaking on the Boca Coronado Mangroves:

Come and explore with us one of the most important mangroves of Central America located on the Terraba-Sierpe River. You will discover the beauty of its canals and enjoy from its great variety of flora and fauna that this estuary offers. Along the way you will have the opportunity to find six different types of mangrove trees and learn the importance of their ecosystem. Mangrove swamps are one of the richest natural environments in the world. Mangrove trees are the only plant that thrives in salt water. You'll see a great variety of birds in the swamps including: Bare-Throated Tiger Heron, Little Blue Heron, Brown Pelican, Royal Tern; and mammals including White Faced Capuchin Monkey, Three and Two-Toed Sloth, Northern & Crab Eating Raccoons, and White Nosed Coati. Some of the reptiles indigenous to the swamps are the Green Iguana, Jesus Christ Lizard, Boa Constrictor snake and 6 different species of crabs

 

WAVES AND CAVES at Ventanas:

 You will paddle along the coast of Costa Ballena and have the chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery and unique natural formations that make its beaches out of the ordinary. Along the way you will have the chance to enjoy form the lush green that surrounds the coast as well as it rock formations in shape of arches. We will stop at Playa Ventanas (Windows Beach) for some snacks and try to do some kayak surfing. Ventanas is surrounded by tunnels in the cliffs that look like impressive windows in the surrounding landscape- hence the beach’s name.
