Incredible Stay! - The location of the house is far from the San Jose airport but well worth the drive. Oscar the concierge was helpful and responded quickly to our requests. The house itself is definitely up a steep rough dirt road but with a 4x4 it was fine. The house was absolutely beautiful, with stunning views and a lot of wildlife. We saw a ton of toucans, macaws, bugs and lizards. Unfortunately we did not see the sloth or any monkeys but would hear them at night. - A restful stay in paradise. This gorgeous property is as described in the photos. The feel is both luxurious and peaceful. Property was spotless. Fully equipped kitchen, grill, and laundry room. Comfortable beds. Water pressure and temp were great. AC units in each room cooled rooms within minutes. Gorgeous views from the pool, patio, balcony, and garden. The house offers something for everyone: fun at the pool; quiet space to enjoy a nice cup of coffee; wrap up a fun day watching a movie. Esteban and Oscar were responsive and hospitable immediately after we confirmed our booking and during our stay. Oscar gave us great recommendations to local fisheries. The property is centrally located. 45 min from MA and Quepos area. 40 min from Nauyaca Waterfalls. If you need a break from cooking or want a good cup of coffee, Cafe Fuego is a solid choice. Supermarkets, restaurants, bakeries, pizzeria, and beautiful beaches within 10-15 minute drive. We only wished we had stayed longer. - Massiel, G.

Making Memories!!! - I have had the luxury of traveling all over the world as an airline pilot. This was hands down the best place we have stayed at. The photos do not do this place any justice. The tranquility of the location is incomparable! AWD or 4x4 is needed due to the cross of gravel and steepness. The dirt road is easily traveled on if you have an AWD or 4x4. The proximity to everything makes things so easy. Grocery store, restaurants, beach, etc. is only 15-20 minutes away. All the adventurous excursions are very close. A few things I would have done sooner are communicating with Oscar, the concierge, and having him arrange all activities with reputable guides. For us he was able to book fishing/snorkeling, zip lining, ate/coffee tour, Manual Antonio park tour, personal chef, sunset horse beach ride and so much more. He was able to move a few things around to accommodate all of my requests and honestly not sure we could have done it without him in advance. I would HIGHLY recommend having the Chef earlier in your stay. We booked him on the night before we were to leave and if you look at pricing it makes more sense to book for numerous days and/or meals. All in all, what you get when booking this location is worth every penny! The memories our family has made will last a lifetime! Thank you - Shane, T.

- Our stay in Costa Rica was great! The house is just a 20-30 minute drive from destinations like Manuel Antonio park, Bahia Adventures (a company that offers snorkeling and hiking tours in Caño Island and Corcovado park) and many beaches. The Airbnb is beautiful - we spent one day just to relax by the pool, where you can see toucans and other birds. There is land on the property to explore and pick fruit too. Two things to watch out for - four wheel drive is necessary as the path to the house is very steep and bumpy. Also, the Wi-Fi was not working during our stay. Oscar said that it went down the day before our arrival because of heavy rain, and the technician did not respond to him during our stay to come and fix it. Just something to look out for in case being in contact with family is an absolute must, as there is no signal in the Airbnb either. But everything else was perfect and Oscar is super kind and responsive! - Samantha, M.

- We loved our stay here. We saw a sloth, toucans, agoutis, hummingbirds, koatis, and more right by the house. The pool was clean and perfect for our kids who spent hours upon hours swimming each day. We enjoyed using the grill and eating our meals outside. The house is very private and secluded yet close to lots of sites - we went to Marino Ballena and Manuel Antonio National parks on separate day trips. - Jamie, B.

A perfect Christmas vacation - Our family of 6 took this trip in lieu of giving gifts this Christmas. WE decided we would remember the adventure and enjoy making memories together more than buying gifts. And boy did we! Watching toucans and sloths and sunsets over the ocean from our patio was our favorite. WE also enjoyed horseback riding to the falls, snorkeling, ziplining, and touring Manuel Antonio National Park. Chef Christopher cooked us an elegant meal and served us poolside. Our favorite restaraunts close by were Langosta Felize (casual dining) and Cuna de Angel (fine dining). - Que dire de cette magnifique villa. C’est magnifique, propre, très bien situé. Les photos ne rendent pas justice à la beauté des lieux. Tout est facile avec Oscar qui s’occupe de la villa. La petite route pour s’y rendre requiert un 4x4 et est assez sinueuse mais elle fait partie du périple. On a vue à la villa des Toucans, un paresseux directement du bord de la piscine. Best Vacation Home/Experience! - I stayed at this property for 6 nights with 7 other friends and it was immaculate! The open air areas were amazing, the AC in the rooms were cold, and the view was perfect! There were gates and an alarm system, so we felt very safe! Definitely make sure you get a 4x4 vehicle on the way up. Our concierge Oscar was SO attentive, set up awesome tours for us, was available for questions at all times, and answered quickly! Family Escape January 2021 - Villa Encantada is absolutely amazing! My husband and I agreed this was the most beautiful house we have ever booked. The flora and fauna that surround are breathtaking - truly a piece of Heaven. The villa is exceptionally well done, and the pictures do not do it justice. Oscar the concierge was extremely warm and helpful. There were only four of us, and this house is made for entertaining. We hope to be back with a larger group to share! - Christi E.

- This house is architecturally unique and beautiful. It is also remote as it takes 8-10 minutes from the main road through very steep paths so make sure you rent a 4x4 to access the property. However, if you are looking for privacy and getting a jungle feeling this place is great as it is easy to spot wildlife around you including a sloth that lives in one of the trees and toucans. Also, the pool is great and one of the biggest I have seen in Costa Rica after staying in 6 other properties. Oscar the local host is very attentive and responds immediately to messages. The place is between Quepos and Uvita, two places that offer plenty of activities and access to national parks. - Lluis P.

- The Airbnb was beautiful and accurate. Please note: the Airbnb is literally in the mountains with a 10-minute, STEEP drive on an unpaved road, so a vehicle with 4-wheel drive is a must. We didnt feel comfortable driving, so we used taxis instead of renting a vehicle. The taxis can get expensive so plan for that if you dont have a rental. Richard, the taxi owner, was very nice and accommodating and had excellent suggestions of things to do in the area. Ivan, the concierge, was also extremely helpful and responsive in the weeks leading to the trip and during the trip. We hired a private chef, Jonathan, and the food was amazing. Overall, I would definitely recommend. Such a wonderful vacation. - Letita B.

- A group of my friends and I stayed at Villa Encantada during our Spring Break! The paradise management team was so helpful, especially having Ivan as our point person. We arrived and had some snacks and fresh fruit waiting for us. The view is just like the pictures and so much better once you experience it! 10/10 trip and wonderful hospitality. P.S. The house is located on a hill which requires 4-wheel drive, you will have to go up and down these roads to get to any restaurants, towns, or beaches. - Margo U.

- We had an incredible time in this beautiful space. The area was great, the view, pool, beds- all top notch. Ivan the concierge was incredibly helpful and responsive. We had three kids 10,8,5 and they loved the house as well but because of the layout/concrete-it might be harder for smaller children - everything besides the rooms, living room and bathrooms were “open” which we LOVED. Dominical and Matapalo right down the road- cant beat the location. Also, you can birdwatch and sloth watch from the pool- honestly it was a great stay. FYI-drive to the house is doable but EPIC for the non-Tico driver. You wont regret this book! - Ana R.

This Villa is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! - Definitely recommend this Villa, it has everything you need for a relaxing vacation. Very clean and comfortable rooms with a nice kitchen area and a patio (by the pool) to relax on and watch for monkeys, toucans, aracaris, and sloths. Cook at the Villa or your just minutes away from some great restaurants. Nearby beaches to enjoy as well as many excursions you can choose from. The property management team, Esteban and Oscar were very helpful and were available anytime we had questions. My family and I will certainly book this Villa again. - Jana H.

Fabulous - Oscar was incredible. In every way. Whatever your need, he will try to do for you. Need a private chef? No worries. How about getting the groceries you need? No worries? Want to do something like horse ride...he has the list of the best of all activities at the best price. The villa itself is great if you want to stay somewhere which is like an adventure and super amazing, rather private place, all rolled into one. My husband and sister stayed 5 days and never heard a bit of traffic, not even on foot. But we did hike the road by foot in mornings and got to see some wonderful things along the way....tons of chirping green Costa Rican parrots. Morpho butterflies and other beauties, too Back at our place... We were Immediately greeted by two large toucan in a limb near the upper balcony deck. They hung out with us for a long while as if to welcome us. Also...Many different type of birds stopped by to see us each day...as we hung out in our wonderful infinity pool. We did see a coati mundi and an agouti but no monkeys nor sloth that we could find..which did disappoint us. There is another villa being built in the distance...not sure if it wasn’t our week to see them or maybe that construction disturbed their usual route as most people say they see monkeys at the villa...but we didn’t....yet no worries, even if you don’t have them at your pool, nor at your place directly, you will see lots of monkeys in the area. One fabulous thing to report....we did not have any mosquitoes at all! Seriously! We didn’t have to bother with repellent not one day...as there was nothing around pestering us. We were super happy about that as we don’t like using repellent but we’re fully expecting too....you are in the middle of a jungle on the side of a magnificent mountain. Super serene We loved just being at our place as it had what we wanted, -but when we wanted more...like to explore a beach, find a cave, do or an activity or go to a restaurant , everything was so close reach... ( you do need a 4 wheel drive car on the mountainside, but main roads are smooth and good.) and don’t be shy to ask Oscar anything—-he’s a local and knows it all... the best prices, the tastiest restaurants, where to purchases the best and freshest fish, where are the best beaches, etc. He leaves you a phone at the villa with his number and he is at your service.. feel free to speed dial him to find your answers fast. But WiFi was also super reliable and fast. Overall experience: super fun time, Very relaxing, we plan to come back...we especially liked the home layout with its sliding glass doors for an indoor/outdoor living/dining room experience was perfect. Note: The kitchen is well stocked with tin foil, Saran Wrap, pots pans, napkins, dishwasher detergent and good working washer and dryer. ( but plan to bring some pinches of favorite spices if cooking much) or Oscar will get them for you. Costa Rica has most foods as you’d expect in the states. AC also was excellent when needed but fans were nice when you didn’t as it cooled nicely at night, At night, everything stood quiet in evenings as the glow from the infinity pool mesmerized us. We slept like a dream in the comfo bed and bedding. ...we waited for the next morning to see what new arrivals would greet us along with another beautiful day - Barkley P.

What an amazing trip we had to Costa Rica! - Staying at Villa Encantada was perfect for our family of 7. The home itself was very clean, well stocked with everything we needed to cook daily meals. The architecture and landscape of the home exceeded expectations. I do not feel like the pictures do it justice. It was great being part of nature and still having all of the amenities from home. Oscar, the concierge was extremely helpful and friendly. He was available to help with booking activities and attending to anything we needed inside the house. The wildlife was absolutely fabulous. During our stay we saw toucans, parrots, and other birds, a variety of interesting insects, lizards and coati right from the back patio. Having bedrooms with air conditioning that completely closed up at night was ideal. We surfed in Dominical, enjoyed SUP, explored Whales Tail, and enjoyed Manuel Antonio. We were busy with outings during the day and would have had no problem just sitting by the pool at the house all day. Some advice I have for this location is to make sure that you rent a 4X4 vehicle, getting to the house is all part of the experience. Also, make sure to get directions on how to work the BBQ and the oven, as both of these appliances worked differently then I was use to. Overall, I would rate our stay a 10 out of 10 and highly recommend it to anyone traveling to the area. We would go back in a a heartbeat! Pura Vita! - Amy M.

Villa Encantada exceeded all our expectations - This was our first stay in Costa Rica and it was absolutely amazing. Villa Encantada is breathtaking. The details of the home are exquisite and the views are beyond your wildest imagination. We saw a gorgeous black and green dart frog, a large iguana, and were greeted every morning by multiple toucans. Dominical was an amazing little beach town with plenty to do and see. We highly recommend whitewater rafting and an ATV tour to a waterfall. Our concierge, Oscar was unbelievably accommodating, always ensuring we were taken care of. It you want the full Pura Vida experience, this is the place for you! - Noble C.
